Description

The project will entail studying the region's many disparate utility infrastructure systems and recommending best practices for regionalized utility systems. The project funding will be used to hire a consultant with the expertise to assess the region's various utility networks and provide feasible recommendations for utilization regionalization that will be implemented at the conclusion of the study to aid the region's ongoing economic recovery effort. The project emphasis will focus on water, wastewater, and electric power (particularly renewable energy sources) utilities that increase the catalytic development potential of large-scale job creation at commercial/industrial development sites. A regional broadband study is currently underway and nearing completion and is not part of this project scope.
