Mouth of Colorado Maintenance Dredging

Project Information: Work Consists of Maintenance dredging and advanced maintenance dredging of the Mouth of the Colorado (approximately 7.5 miles). • Option 1 will include dredging from channel station 0+000 to channel station 37+200 and will include varying advanced maintenance and 2' over-depth. Material from the entrance channel and jetty channel will be placed on the beach adjacent to the west jetty. Material from the main channel may be placed in Placement Area (PA) 108. PA 108 will also require new hand-railing around the PA's spill box, this work is required for use of the PA • Option 2 will include the clearing and grubbing of PA 3 located at the intersection of the Mouth of the Colorado River and the Gulf Intra-coastal Waterway (GIWW). Completion Time: 12,000 CYs per day. This contract is subject to several environmental windows, including bird nesting, turtle nesting, and piping plover. All work must be completed within the winter months (October - February) to avoid impacts to bird nesting and turtle nesting, and monitors will be required to avoid impacts to piping plover. Placement of material will include both beach placement and upland confined placement.
