Description | The Work will consist of construction of a new female wing addition to the existing Northwest Community Corrections Center. The addition shall connect to the existing building with two (2) pedestrian walkways where minor demolition and patching/repairing will occur. New construction will consist of, but not limited to, civil, structural, architectural, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and security systems and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. The Contractor is responsible for scheduling the Project, coordinating the Work, coordinating the Subcontractors, security, and providing other services identified in the Contract Documents. The estimate of probable cost, dated Nov. 2022, for this project is $5,725,112.00 inclusive of 10% Contractor OH&P, and 10% General Conditions. Bidders shall not be responsible for paying sales taxes on materials incorporated into the structure. The bid guaranty may be of two forms: 1. A Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond using the form in the Contract Documents. (The amount of the bid does NOT have to appear on this form.) 2. A certified check, cashier's check or letter of credit in favor of the Wood County Commissioners, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. If the contract is awarded a Contract Bond will be required, which is a one hundred percent (100%) payment and performance bond. All waste materials generated from this project must be taken to the Wood County Landfill for disposal. Contractor shall advise the Wood County Commissioners when the roll-off box is full. The Wood County Commissioners shall be responsible for all hauling and landfill costs (to be paid by NWCCC) and shall provide a roll-off box for this use. The successful bidder will be required to pay not less than the minimum wage rates established by the Department of Commerce, Division of Industrial Compliance, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration of the State of Ohio in accordance with all provisions of the Prevailing Wage Act of the State of Ohio, ORC Sections 4115.03 and 4115.16 and related requirements. Bids received after the scheduled bid opening date and time, or not accompanied by a satisfactory bid bond or check, will neither be read nor considered. Bidders are hereby notified that the bids will be rejected if the Base Bid amount exceeds the architect's estimate by more than ten (10) percent. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. All requests for clarification or questions must be e-mailed to Nic Olechnowicz, Project Manager at nolechnowicz@k2mdesign.com by Friday, February 10th, 2023. No telephone calls. Any addenda issued prior to opening of the bids shall be acknowledged on the bid form. The Board of County Commissioners may reject any or all of the bids. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to waive any irregularities in the form of the bid that do not affect or destroy competitive bidding. In no case will an award be made until all necessary investigations are made as to the qualifications of the bidder to whom it is proposed to award the contract. |
