Description | The City of Cape Girardeau Missouri seeks Statements of Qualifications from companies/contractors with expertise in design-build services for renovation of Aquatic Facilities. Respondents must be capable of providing design/build services which comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing construction of said Aquatic Facilities including all associated agency or agencies permitting such projects. Central Municipal Pool is located at 1920 Whitener Street in the City of Cape Girardeau Missouri. The facility, located on the campus of Cape Central Jr. High School, was constructed in 1979 as a joint project between the City of Cape Girardeau and the Cape Girardeau Public School District. The swimming pool is Olympic-size (25 yards X 50 meters) with a water depth beginning at 3.5 ft. transitioning into a 13 ft. diving well. The pool is equipped with one (3) meter and two (1) meter diving boards. The pool walls are welded stainless steel with a gutter style recirculation system. The pool floor is cast-inplace concrete. The Chemical Delivery System consists of a Becs chemical controller and Stenner chemical pumps. The pool water is treated with liquid sodium hypochlorite and muriatic acid stored on-site in approved chemical storage tanks. The filter/recirculation system includes a gravity fed surge tank with diatomaceous earth filter media. Adjoining the main pool is a 12-15 inch depth 26 ft X 26 ft wading pool that runs off the same filter system as the large pool. The facility is operated year round and is housed by an insulated/inflatable structure during the winter months. The scope of service will involve renovation of the existing swimming pool as approved by applicable local, state, and federal agencies and includes all permits for construction, operation, etc. Proposed components of the renovation will be as follows. The scope of the proposal may be scaled back as the project budget dictates. Remove pool deck and existing stainless steel pool walls and gutters. Review geotechnical survey and evaluation of existing concrete pool floor. Install new pool walls, required plumbing and gutters. The pool walls will adjoin the existing pool basin floor. Backfill pool walls and deck and pour new pool decking with required drains and receptacles for peripheral deck equipment. Install a permanent Sprung style structure enclosure with all required HVAC and dehumidification systems. Install a new pool water heater. Replace existing pool filter system with a high rate sand filter, circulation pump, and new filter system components. Re-locate mechanical room above pool deck grade. Install new deck components to include lifeguard stands, ladders, diving boards, and competitive starting blocks for both 50 meter and 25 yard competitive swimming events. Installation of a competitive timing system Demolition and filling of the existing wading pool. Install new site security lighting. Install all new fencing on facility site. Upgrade all facility electrical.
