Description | The Town of Taos is soliciting bids for the construction of one deep potable water supply well. The name of the well site is Well 10 (Rio Pueblo). Well 10 is to be completed to a depth of 2,600 feet below ground surface. Well construction details are included in this bid package. The Well 10 site is located southwest of Town off Tomas H. Romero Rd approximately 1/2 mile west of Los Cordovas Rd. Work at the site includes the construction of one 7 7/8 -inch-diameter (maximum) pilot borehole followed by reaming to 17 3/4 -inch diameter (minimum) to install a 10-inch nominal diameter well casing for a deep-water supply well. The Town of Taos (Owner) is requesting Sealed Bids for the construction of the following Project: Drilling and Installation of Taos Municipal Water Supply Well 10 Town of Taos Project #: 21-22-04 The project includes the following Work: The Town of Taos is soliciting bids for the construction of one deep potable water supply well. The selected Contractor shall furnish the labor, materials, supplies, and equipment required to complete the project. To be considered for this work, bidders must have current New Mexico Well Driller and Business licenses, and must also have the appropriate General Contractor license required by the State. Drilling shall be completed using reverse mud-rotary methods from beneath the surface casing to the total well depth. Methods shall be consistent with standard practices for construction of water supply wells. Once the total drilled depth of the pilot hole is reached, the drill string will be removed and a suite of geophysical logs (temperature, electrical resistivity, natural gamma, sonic, neutron, caliper and deviation) will be run in the mud-filled borehole prior to reaming. The final design details for the supply well will be completed by the Engineer upon review of the geophysical logs. Once the supply well is constructed development and testing will be completed by flushing, swabbing, airlift, and development pumping. After development is completed step- and constant-rate pumping tests will be conducted, followed by video and alignment surveys, and comprehensive Safe Drinking Water Act water quality sampling. The Contractor shall have prior experience in the construction of at least three wells of similar depths and construction methods each within the past three years. The Contractor shall have engaged in the construction of wells in similar geologic materials and similar to the dimensions of the well specified herein. Prospective bidders shall provide evidence of the above requirements in the form of reference projects at the time of receipt of bids. A reference form is provided in the Bid Documents and shall be submitted by prospective bidders at the time of bidding. Failure to provide references may result in bidders being deemed non-responsive. The Owner may contact references to verify experience and quality of work, and may make other such investigations as necessary to determine the qualifications of prospective bidders. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through Bonfire. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated issuing office. Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that do not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference. Instructions to Bidders For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Federal Contract Requirements This project is federally funded and potential bidders are required to comply with all applicable federal requirements. Additional information regarding the federal requirements is available in the instructions to bidders and project manual contract documents. Questions Due Date: Jun 13th 2022, 5:00 PM MDT |
