Description | Transportation Region/Bureau: DTIM - Bureau of Transit, Local Roads, Railroads and Harbors Solicitation ID: BTLRRH-02 Route : NON HWY County : 40 - Milwaukee County Limit : C Wauwatosa & C Waukesha WisDOT, in partnership with City of Wauwatosa, and with coordination involving Canadian National Railway (CN), Canadian Pacific Railway (CP), and the City of Waukesha, has been awarded CRISI grant funding to identify potential infrastructure improvements and/or strategies to effectively reduce the risk of trespassing and injury at locations in Waukesha and Wauwatosa. This study is expected to improve safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, existing rail users, and other road users within the surrounding communities. The study is an essential first step to identify realistic, cost-effective solutions to improve corridor safety. WisDOT and project partners including a multidisciplinary steering committee will perform a comprehensive safety study by analyzing multimodal movements across and along the railroad segments of concern. This study will identify safety risks for pedestrians and bicyclists at the railroad corridors/road at-grade crossings. Data will be collected, and a technical analysis will result in recommended solutions to improve safety along the rail corridors and at specific crossings. The study will also examine the entire length of the study corridors to identify solutions addressing trespassing and suicide incidents The contract price will be based on an estimate of the selected consultant's actual costs plus fixed fee. Consultant costs including indirect cost rates and cost accounting system will be subject to audit. Consultant firms that are unable to account for costs consistent with requirements of the FAR are not eligible to contract. Consultants selected will be required to either submit or have on file with WisDOT a Consultant Financial Report prior to contract execution. Information on the report may be found at Website. Advertised Fixed Fee %: 7.25 The fixed fee for this contract will apply an indirect cost factor of 150% to the consultant's estimated direct labor, regardless of the consultant's actual indirect rate.
