3900 South Improvements Project, Phase 1 - Pipeline Project

Installation of approximately 875 feet of 24” ductile iron pipe, 34 feet of 16” ductile iron pipe, 2,194 feet of 12” ductile iron pipe and 47 feet of 8” ductile iron pipe in 3900 South from the Salt Lake City property at 3184 East and in the public right of way. The 24” and one of the 12” waterlines will end at the Birch Drive intersection. While the second 12” waterline will extend further east to 3396 East. The 16” will extend north 34 feet where it will connect into an existing 12” waterline and reduce to 8” and extend north 47 feet. There are multiple connections to existing waterlines and one crossing of the Salt Lake Aqueduct, owned by Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy. The work in 3900 South must be completed and coordinated with the 3900 South Reconstruction roadway improvements project being completed by Millcreek and Holladay City. This construction contract also includes installation of approximately 475 feet of 8” pipe to connect with three existing pipes at Upland Drive and Viking Road. There is also a conditional 447 feet of 8” waterline along the north side of 3900 South to Olympic Way. This portion of waterline work dependent upon Fiber Optic relocation working being completed by others. Work also includes but is not limited to, water service replacements, fire hydrant reconnection, installation of gate valves, butterfly valves, thrust blocks and repairs to asphalt, curb & gutter, sidewalk and other surfaces.
