S-96 Rehabilitation

Water control structure rehabilitation project is to repair the damaged and aging concrete, repair and paint the sheet pile wing walls, repair and paint the roller gate, replace the existing hydraulic gate operators with electric operated cable drum hoists, replace the upstream and downstream safety barriers, replace fencing, and other miscellaneous site work. This work is necessary to ensure the operational readiness of Structure S-96 and to satisfy the requirements of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Structure S-96 is located between St. Johns Water Management Area (SJWMA) and the western terminus of Canal C-54 within the Upper St. Johns River Basin Project in Brevard County, Florida at approximate GPS coordinates of latitude 27.823850°, longitude -80.707279°.
