As-Needed Engineering and Technical Support Services for State-Owned Dams

The types of projects that could be assigned to the Selected Firms may include, but are not limited to: Planning studies, alternatives analyses, feasibility studies, engineering investigations, construction cost estimation or preliminary and/or final design for dam repairs, rehabilitation or reconstruction. Existing condition assessments of earth embankments, outlet works, structural elements (including reinforced concrete, steel, retaining walls, gates and operators, gate houses, hydropower appurtenances, penstocks, and other structures), and other dam features. Development of any necessary permit applications, including Dam Safety and Wetlands permit applications. Design, preparation of bid documents including plans and specifications, bid administration and construction oversight/inspection services for planned projects, emergency repairs, projects deemed necessary to address unexpected problems, or for repairing/modifying existing infrastructure due to deterioration or operational issues. These projects might be triggered by emergencies such as storm or flood damage. Emergency Action Plan (EAP) development, including breach analyses and inundation mapping efforts. Dam rehabilitation or removal alternatives analysis, including construction cost estimating and comparison.
