Description | The Town of Carlisle, 66 Westford St, Carlisle, MA 01741, (the Town), seeks quotes for services to provide an ADA Ramp Design and installation as described in the Scope of Services provided in Paragraph 2, below. Scope of Services Proposal for labor, materials, design, and the installation of: 1.A functional ramp and approach in compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) which meets all federal, state & local code requirements and approvals including Historical Society Certificate of Appropriateness. 2.ADA Ramp shall be installed on the South Side of the Police station off the main entry stair, left side. 3.ADA compliant black vertical picket and black anodized handrail. 4.Building code and ADA compliant ramp will consist of a switchback as conceptually illustrated in attachment 1. Sketch is for demonstration purposes only. 5.Design shall maximize distance between building and ramp to allow a secondary building entrance adjacent to the switchback. Designed and installed by others. 6.Ramp entrance grading as needed to be in ADA compliance. 7.Removal and disposal of existing lift and associated railing. Demo of all electrical and related equipment will be done by another contractor. 8.Steel Bollards are required to be installed between the ramp and driveway to protect the ramp; a minimum 3 required. 9.All work shall be performed in a neat and workman like manner 10.Shrubbery shall be removed as needed and disposed of to meet ADA compliance where ramp and approach will be installed. 11.Design shall start no later than 90 days after bid is awarded unless otherwise specified 12.Design documentation shall be sufficient to obtain a local approval by the Historical Society and Building Commissioner. 13.All Town permit fees will be waived by the Town of Carlisle Quotes are being solicited in accordance with M.G.L. c. 149, 44A(B). This contract is subject to Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Law and the contractor is responsible for all applicable wages as well as State, Federal, Social Security and Unemployment taxes and agrees to indemnify and protect the Town against such liability The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all quotes. |
