Description

The proposed contract is for 500 hours of vegetation and brush removal on the southern end of Chicken Hollow Walk-In Area. The vegetation/brush removal will also be on various fireguards/ridgetops clearings/old firewood wood plots along Cochran Prairie road and along Chicken Hollow Walk-In trail. Work will consist of woody vegetation (Pine, Oak, and Hickory) removal along fireguards/old ridgetop clearings and along old firewood wood plots. Masticating of all trees 8” or less will be done on the clearings/wood plots. The various ridgetops for masticating will be determined by ODWC area personnel to achieve the Pine/Oak Savanna restoration of the WMA. This project will create 240 acres of wildlife openings.
