Description

As of April 19, 2023, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. Work to be performed shall include: The complete demolition and replacement of two existing drywell type wastewater pump stations with; new wet well structures, with submersible pumps, new valve vault structures, new electrical control equipment and supporting frameworks, new natural gas electrical generators and improvements for enlarging both wastewater pump station sites, including replacement of fencing and gates and additional gravel surfaces within and outside the new fencing. The work shall be performed in full accordance with the Project Documents now on file in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer. All bids shall be itemized bids. The contract or contracts for each or both wastewater pump station replacements will be awarded to the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder(s) on the basis of the lowest bid prices submitted by qualified bidders in the manner and with all supplemental documents required and which result in the lowest total project cost. Bids for each wastewater pump station replacement shall be submitted on the Itemized Bid Forms contained in the Project Manual. Bids may be submitted for either or both wastewater pump station replacements. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Contractor's Bid for Public Works Form No. 96, prescribed by the Indiana State Board of Accounts, which includes a Non- Collusion Affidavit, an E-Verify Affidavit, an Iran Non-Investment Certification, and by an acceptable certified, cashier's check or bid bond, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the TOTAL bid and made payable to the Town of Porter. Other documents to be included with the bid are listed on the Bid Form. The Contractor or Contractors to whom the project work is awarded will be required to furnish performance bond and payment bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Each bidder shall be prepared to promptly enter into a construction contract, furnish the bonds and certificates of insurance coverage for the project, and to commence the work in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents, in the event that the award of either or both wastewater pump station replacements is made to them. Upon the completion of the construction and the final acceptance of the same, the Contractor or Contractors for the project shall be required to furnish a maintenance bond, conditioned to guarantee the construction for a period of two (2) years. No bidder may withdraw their bid within a period of sixty (60) days following the date as established herein for receiving formal bids. The Town Council reserves the right to hold any and all bids for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days; said bids to remain in full force and effect during said period. The Town of Porter reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding process. Complete Bidding Documents for both wastewater pump station replacements, in one combined set of Drawings and Project Manual, are on file in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer at the address given above. On or after February 20, 2023, Bidding Documents for the project may be obtained for a non-refundable amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) by cash or check to Haas & Associates, LLC and electronic bidding documents will be sent by WeTransfer.
