Description

The County of Augusta is seeking a Class A contractor for a roof replacement project at the Natural Chimneys Park/Campground located at 94 Natural Chimneys Ln., Mt. Solon VA. This project consist of replacing the roof covering for several structures. The project will include four (4) shelter roofs varying in size, one (1) pump house, one (1) filter shed, and one (1) maintenance area shed, for a total of seven (7) structures. These structures vary in size and roof type and are listed separately within this RFQ. o Shelter #1 Shelter 1 is 1,155 sq. ft. in size. The current shingled roof has met the end of its usable life and needs to be replace. The existing shingles and underlayment will need to be removed and properly disposed of. Ice and water shield will need to be installed along the bottom edge of the roof with synthetic felt paper installed across the entire roof fastened with appropriate code approved fasteners. All metal to be installed will be 24 gauge pre finished galvanized with a 30 year Kynar finish or equivalent, color to be determined by the County. Drip edge is to be installed along the entire perimeter of the roof system, with 24 gauge pre finished galvanized snap lock roof panels. The panel ribs will be 16 inches wide with 1.5 inch tall ribs. The panels will be held in place with the manufactures recommended and code approved clips and screws according to the manufactures installation instructions. A 24 gauge pre-finished ridge cap, matching in color and finish will be installed along the peak of the roof system. Shelter #2 Shelter 2 is 1,155 sq. ft. in size, just like shelter #1. The current shingled roof has met the end of its usable life and needs to be replace. The existing shingles and underlayment will need to be removed and properly disposed of. Ice and water shield will need to be installed along the bottom edge of the roof, with synthetic felt paper installed across the entire roof fastened with appropriate code approved fasteners. This shelter has two main sections, incorporates a chimney with a cricket above the chimney and three valley sections. The current shingled roof has met the end of its usable life and needs to be replace. The existing shingles and underlayment will need to be removed and properly disposed of. Ice and water shield will need to be installed along the bottom edge of the roof, and in the valleys, with synthetic felt paper installed across the entire roof fastened with appropriate code approved fasteners. 24 gauge pre -finished galvanized valley metal to be utilized in the valleys of shelter #3, as well as counter flashing for the chimney. All metal to be installed will be 24 gauge pre finished galvanized with a 30 year Kynar finish or equivalent, color to be determined by the County. Drip edge is to be installed along the entire perimeter of the roof system, with 24 gauge pre finished galvanized snap lock roof panels. The panel ribs will be 16 inches wide with 1.5 inch tall ribs. The panels will be held in place with the manufactures recommended and code approved clips and screws according to the manufactures installation instructions. A 24 gauge pre-finished ridge cap, matching in color and finish will be installed along the peak of the roof system. oShelter #4 Shelter 4 is 1,465 sq. ft. in size, like the previous mentioned roofs, the current shingled roof has met the end of its usable life and needs to be replace. The existing shingles and underlayment will need to be removed and properly disposed of. Ice and water shield will need to be installed along the bottom edge of the roof, with synthetic felt paper installed across the entire roof fastened with appropriate code approved fasteners. All metal to be installed will be 24 gauge pre finished galvanized with a 30 year Kynar finish or equivalent, color to be determined by the County. Drip edge is to be installed along the entire perimeter of the roof system, with 24 gauge pre finished galvanized snap lock roof panels. The panel ribs will be 16 inches wide with 1.5 inch tall ribs. Ice and water shield will need to be installed along the bottom edge of the roof, with synthetic felt paper installed across the entire roof fastened with appropriate code approved fasteners. All metal to be installed will be 24 gauge pre finished galvanized with a 30 year Kynar finish or equivalent, color to be determined by the County. Ice and water shield will need to be installed along the bottom edge of the roof, with synthetic felt paper installed across the entire roof fastened with appropriate code approved fasteners. All metal to be installed will be 24 gauge pre finished The roadside well pump house located near the roadside restroogalvanized with a 30 year Kynar finish or equivalent, color to be determined by the County. Drip edge is to be installed along the entire perimeter of the roof system, with 24 gauge pre finished galvanized snap lock roof panels. The panel ribs will be 16 inches wide with 1.5 inch tall ribs. The panels will be held in place with the manufactures recommended and code approved clips and screws according to the manufactures installation instructions. A 24 gauge pre-finished ridge cap, matching in color and finish will be installed along the peak of the roof system. Maintenance Area Shed The Maintenance Area Shed is located within the fenced in maintenance yard. The shed is approx. 255 sq. ft. in size and is comprised of and EPDM membrane roof covering. The existing loose laid EPDM roof membrane will be removed from the roof and properly disposed of. The new roof will consist of 1/2 " high density of Polyiso insulation fastened in place to allow the installation of a fully adhered 60 mil black EPDM membrane to be installed. New fabricated 24 gauge pre-finished galvanized drip edge metal will be installed on the perimeter and sealed with pressure sensitive flashings.
