Chinook Gravel Trail Removal and Installation

Removal of existing trail: . Removal of existing damaged asphalt trail section. . Removal will consist of removal and disposal of duff and top organic layers down to mineral soil and backfill should be applied in 6 inch lifts and compacted until no visual displacement. . Complete any root trimming necessary in the area and install root barrier to reduce future root encroachment. Installation of new trail section will be consistent with option 1 in attached drawings that include: . Raised timber side rails that are secured with re-bar that are 1/2 '' thickness x 18'' minimum depth. . Timbers for this should be 6''x6'' pressure treated lumber or an approved alternative with a 6 foot tread width. . Base layer material should be a minimum of a 4'' layer of 3/4 '' minus gravel topped with a 2'' compacted 1/4 '' minus gravel with fines . . Outslope should be 2% minimum 3% maximum.
