Description | Scope of work for installing A/C at Darlington Middle School East Side of Media Centers shall include but not be limited to the following: Remove existing unit which is a 10 ton Trane split system heat pump, the condensing unit model# TWA120A400FB. The air handler model number is Model# TWE120A300EL. The new unit is to be a Trane 10 ton split system heat pump. The new condensing unit is to have hail guards furnished and installed by the contractor or the manufacturer. All refrigerant and drain lines are to be replaced with new refrigerant and drain lines. The large refrigerant line also known as the suction line is to be insulated with ¾ inch “Armaflex” or “Rubatex” pipe insulation from the air handler to the condensing unit to prevent condensation. Refrigerant lines running down the exterior wall are to be secured to the exterior wall using “Unistrut”, “Hydrazorb”, or cushion clamps on the copper pipes and standard “Unistrut” clamps on the PVC drain lines. All lines running down the outside wall are to be covered with a sheet metal cover that stops one foot from the ground or concrete. New drain lines are to be 1inch or larger schedule 40 PVC pipe. Drain lines are to be supported with supports being no further than 5 feet apart. Drain trap(s) are to be “Easy trap” brand traps with a built in float switch(s). The air handler is to have a new auxiliary drain pan that is at a minimum of 2 inches wider and longer than the new air handler. This auxiliary drain pan is to have a new float switch installed. Any holes created are uncovered by this installation are to be covered and sealed to the fire rating of the wall, ceiling, or floor that is penetrated. Ceiling grid and ceiling tile that is removed is to be reinstalled by the contractor. If new ceiling tiles are required the district will provide them. Before brazing, soldering, or creating dust, the fire alarm system must be taken off line. After completion of work the fire alarm system must be put back on line. All supplies and materials used for this installation are to be furnished and installed by the contractor and are to be included in the bid. Equipment that was removed and all of the debris created is to be cleaned up and disposed of by the contractor. Safety precautions are to be taken to protect Students, staff, employees, and visitors while installation is in progress. |
