Description

City of Goldsboro Enhancement Area Locations (4): The areas to be maintained are located below; maps are available in the Planning Department. 1. Royall Avenue (between Center Street and Berkeley Boulevard) and an area extending along the east side of Spence Avenue running from Royall Avenue a distance of approximately 600 ft. (where foot traffic occurs); 2. U. S. Highway 70 East Bypass/Spence Avenue Interchange and area in front of BoJangle's; 3. U. S. Highway 70 West and U. S. 117/I-795 Bypass Interchange; 4. Berkeley Boulevard Median between Elm Street and Ash Street; Enhancement Areas Scope of Work: Contractor will be responsible for maintenance of four (4) of the City of Goldsboro enhancement areas as well as other areas as specified. Maintenance includes the following: 1. Pick-up and disposal of all litter and debris (on a weekly basis or as needed/requested) throughout the contract year; 2. Cutting grass (maintain maximum grass height no greater than six (6) inches); all areas that cannot be mowed by a riding mower or mid-sized walk-behind mower are to be trimmed or hand-mowed at the same intervals that the lawn is mowed. Where applicable, ditches are to be maintained appropriately. 3. Removal and replacement of mulch (provided by the City) during the months of March and April with a mulch depth of approximately 6 inches. All mulched areas are to be sprayed to maintain them free of weeds at all times. In some cases, weeds should be manually removed. 4. Spraying, trimming, blowing, fertilizing, planting and watering as necessary in order to achieve aesthetically pleasing and healthy grass and plant material. 5. Shrubs and trees should be pruned or trimmed as necessary. All clipping and limbs should be disposed of properly. Grass clipping should not be blown into the street. If a drought situation exists, plant material may need to be watered. This may be done upon recommendation by City personnel. When appropriate, or upon staff recommendation, grass seed may be planted. 6. Application of pre-emergent herbicide (Surlfan) during the months of March and October. 7. Where applicable, sidewalks and curbs are to be edged twice a month during the growing season. All sidewalk cracks and curb expansions should be sprayed to kill weeds and maintain them free of weeds at all times
