Description

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Pre-Fabricated Electrical Equipment Building and Appurtenances for the Electrical Replacement Phase 2 Project 9006 includes, but is not limited to procurement of one (1) new NEMA 3R pre-fabricated building, fully integrated with: one (1) new metal-enclosed, draw out type 480V power-type switchgear; two (2) new 480V motor control centers; one (1) new programmable logic controller (PLC) panel; and one (1) new 48VDC switchgear control power battery system. Delivery of all equipment and materials to jobsite, onsite start-up, testing, and staff training. The OWNER will procure a separate General Contractor to perform onsite demolition, preparation and site work, and onsite electrical improvements SITE OF WORK: The site of the WORK is located at the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District's Treatment Plant: 1010 Chadbourne Rd., Fairfield, CA, 94534. COMPLETION OF WORK: The WORK must be completed within four hundred and sixty-eight (468) calendar days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. NOTICE TO PROCEED: The Notice to Proceed will be issued in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The Contract Documents are entitled "Request for Bids and Procurement Documents for New Pre-Fabricated Electrical Building and Appurtenances for the Electrical Replacement Phase 2 Project 9006." The Bids will be publicly opened and read at the abovementioned office of the OWNER. CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE CLASSIFICATION: In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the OWNER has determined that only CONTRACTORs that will perform any assembly, integration, or other construction work at the jobsite shall possess a valid Class "A" General Engineering Contractor License and/or Class "C-10" Electrical Contractor License at the time that the Bid is submitted. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the Bid as nonresponsive and shall act as a bar to award of the Contract to any Bidder not possessing said license at the time of Bid submittal. CALIFORNIA WAGE RATE REQUIREMENTS: California Labor Code Section 1771 provides "Except for public works projects of one thousand dollars ($1,000) or less, not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for work of a similar character in the locality in which the public work is performed, and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for holiday and overtime work fixed as provided in this chapter, shall be paid to all workers employed on public works." In accordance with California Labor Code Section 1773.2, OWNER advises that copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages are on file at OWNER's principal office, which shall be made available to any interested party on request. CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5, all CONTRACTORS and SUBCONTRACTORS bidding and working on public works contracts must be registered with California's Department of Industrial Relations. This project is subject to compliance and monitoring enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make awards to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it may best serve the interest of the OWNER.
