Description | Notice is hereby given that the Porter Co. Department of Development & Storm Water Management is seeking sealed bids for the project designated as Bridge No. 40 Replacement - CR1000 S Over Reeves Ditch. The project is located CR 1000 S over Reeves Ditch South Located Approximately 1.0 Mile East of CR 600 E in Sections 19, 24, 25 & 30 Township 33 North, Ranges 4 & 5 West in Pleasant Township, Porter County, LaPorte District, Indiana. The project consists of the replacement of an existing bridge with a new single-span bridge. The overall purpose of the project is to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge and improve the conveyance of Reeves Ditch under the bridge. The new superstructure shall consist of single-span prestressed concrete hybrid bulb-tee beam structure with a total bridge deck length of 66'-9" and span of 65'-0". The superstructure shall be supported on reinforced concrete abutments on steel H-piles. The bridge cross-section shall consist of two 12'-0" travel lanes and two 2'-8" shoulders for a clear roadway of 29'-4". Type FC bridge shall be installed and will result in an out-to-out coping width of 32'- 4". A reinforced concrete bridge approach will be used behind both abutments. The structure will be built with no skew to the channel. The low structure elevation will provide a minimum of 2'-0" of freeboard above the Q100 elevation. The project will also include demolition and removal of the existing structure, and installation of the proposed structure. The work includes the carrying out of all duties and obligations and the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and other incidentals necessary or convenient to the successful completion of the project. Any bids Received after the above-designated time will be returned unopened. All questions about the meaning or intent of the bidding documents or any discrepancies or omissions identified therein are to be submitted to the Porter County Department of Development & Storm Water Management. All such questions shall be submitted directly to the contact identified in this Invitation to Bid. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Porter County Department of Development & Storm Water Management in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the Porter County Department of Development & Storm Water Management as having received the bidding documents and will be posted on the Porter County Department of Development & Storm Water Management website. Questions received less than two days prior to the date for opening of bids may not be answered, as all Addenda to be issued by the Porter County Department of Development & Storm Water Management will be issued at least one day prior to the date for opening of bids in order to provide prospective bidders ample time to incorporate such Addenda into their bids.
