Westside Annex Welders Exhaust Hood Project

Scope of Work: 1. 1. Contractor to custom design, fabricate and install a commercial grade, stainless steel, ceiling mounted, 12’ x 8’ x 2’ exhaust hood and connect to an existing 16” diameter exhaust duct of an existing Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) System. Preliminary design sketch to be submitted via email: mxovalle@episd.org four (4) days prior to bidding for consideration of approval. 2. New exhaust hood shall consist of a flange-shaped cover, minimum 1 mm thickness with no holes and overlapped sides. 3. All connections to be riveted with 2-inch overlaps to minimize leakage. 4. Contractor to provide and install two (2) Integrated UL certified, 115/1/60 2 amp, minimum 1,000 lumen lighting systems with protective covers and independent wall-mounted switches. Lighting systems shall be installed in opposing ends of the new exhaust hood. Cut sheets for proposed lighting system shall be submitted via email: mxovalle@episd.org four (4) days prior to bidding for consideration of approval. 5. New exhaust hood shall include a 25” x 20” removable, industrial media, fume extractor filter with filter box. New filters shall be designed to capture welding fumes and grinding dust. Cut sheets for filtration system shall be submitted four (4) days prior to bidding for consideration of approval. 6. Contractor to relocate and reconnect existing LEV system to include ducting, exhaust stack and a roof- mounted exhaust fan. The horizontal relocation is approximately 12-feet. New location shall be water-tight and old locations shall be sealed with roofing cement and new cap sheet. Cut sheets for roofing cement and cap sheet shall be submitted four (4) days prior to bidding for consideration of approval.
