Description | 1. Provide a 275 gallon temporary tank for diesel fuel to supply the Regional Maintenance Building. The temporary tank shall be placed on the lawn adjacent to the building with the fuel lines run to the relocated existing fuel pumping module in the building. Filter and transfer fuel from the existing 5,000 gallon underground. Any excess fuel will be filtered and transported by the contractor to the campus as directed by Mr. Mills. Coordinate all work with the Maintenance Manager 2. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for locating all existing underground utilities, prior to excavation, using an independent utility locator at least 48 hours prior to excavation. Obtain all possible existing utility location information from the State Representative as well. 3. Excavate and remove the existing UST tank and all associated piping 4. Fill the tank excavation to the level of the sidewalk with clean fill to 12” below the original grade. Place 12” of clean topsoil to bring the excavation site back to the original grades. 5. Design and install a new concrete tank pad to support a 3,000 gallon AST diesel tank after the UST is removed. The design shall include four (4) steel pipe bollards to protect the tank from vehicular impact. 6. Provide a new UL-2085 labeled 3,000 gallon rectangular AST fuel oil tank with level gauge reading in inches, access ladder, fill port with spill bucket, stick port, ATG System and vents as required by state and/or federal regulations. 7. The area excavated in order to remove the existing underground tank, and install the newly provided tank, shall be repaired by providing fill which needs to be compacted, top soil, grass seed, straw and grading as required to the satisfaction of the Owner. 8. Provide soil tests in the tank excavation area for petroleum contamination under “Unit Pricing “as testing required by MDE: 1. Perform 8015B TPH-DRO/GRO, 8260 Full Suite VOC’s including fuel oxygenates, and 8021 BTEX MTBE TBA. 2. Work shall include obtaining, transporting, testing, and analysis of sample to meet the requirements of that particular test. 9. Provide and install a new Veeder Root TLS 350 tank gauge system to monitor the product level in the tank and to provide leak detection in the interstitial space of the tank |
