Description | The project is the one-time restoration of the Hillsboro Inlet South Jetty. The work includes the reuse of the existing inner row of 121 concrete piles as a foundation for an extended concrete cap with limestone armor stone on either side. The existing concrete panel and king piles will be left in place. A 32" wide by 5'5" tall concrete cap will be cast-in-place along the length of the jetty, with the concrete pile caps embedded a minimum of 9 inches into the cap. The project will also reconfigure and reinforce the existing 2,850 cubic yards of armor stone along the foundation of the jetty by adding approximately 950 cubic yards of new limestone boulders to both sides of the jetty. The new limestone boulder footprint will extend approximately 2-10 feet from the existing footprint and will be in water depths approximately 8 to 13 feet deep along the southeast and northwest sides of the jetty. The addition of new limestone boulders will increase the total footprint area of the jetty from approximately 0.36 acres to approximately 0.50 acres. Location:This project is located on the south side of the Hillsboro Inlet, Section 29, Township 48 South, Range 43 East, in the City of Hollywood, Florida | ||||
