Description | The historic structure assessment that is the subject of this Request for Proposals will provide a foundation for an in-depth assessment of the architectural and historical attributes related to the Durbin House and significance of the Durbin family lineage. The primary goals and objectives of this project are as follows: ? To review existing archival information and known structural conditions to establish appropriate background for the project. ? To inventory interior and exterior historic features, potential historic features, and areas of disturbance. ? To conduct a walk over, map assessment, and map sequence, and to perform deed research to determine archeological potential. ? To obtain architectural survey data, including the chronology of construction, modifications made over time, and character defining features important to the historical integrity of the Durbin House. ? To document and recommend immediate and interim measures to protect the structure. ? To identify potential, future public use and interpretive opportunities. ? To develop a phased renovation strategy. ? To incorporate all findings in a report for staff review, discussion, and comment. ? To publish a final report and present its findings to the Mayor and Common Council. |
