Wastewater Treatment Facility Primary - Digester Cover Replacement

Site Directions: Wastewater Treatment Facility, Red Wing, Minnesota Digester Cover Installation Project. Existing fixed cover, mixer and associated equipment demolition New fixed cover, mixer and associated equipment installation Roof replacement Piping and valves Electrical, controls, instrumentation Lighting improvements Major components of the Work include: Installation of radial beam fixed cover, draft tube mixers and appurtenances already procured by City of Red Wing for the Primary Digester in Red Wing, MN. Process piping replacement, roof replacement of Digester Building and electrical work are also included in the project. 1. Demolition of existing primary digester cover and mixing system, disposal off site. 2. Contractor shall provide grading to allow for tank cover construction next to existing tank and provide necessary traffic control. Contractor to re-grade after cover installation to return to preexisting conditions. 3. Contractor shall provide temporary fencing as necessary during the cover assembly. 4. City is responsible for coordinating with the railroad for work inside railroad right of way including necessary permits. 5. Welding inspection will be done following digester cover assembly by Owner's inspector. Contractor is responsible for any corrections to welding following inspections. 6. The cover and mixing system has been procured by the Owner from Envirodyne Systems, Inc. 7. The Primary Digester is the south-eastern most tank in the Digester Complex (which also contains primary clarifiers on the west side of the complex. 8. It is important to note that on the west side of the Primary Digester tank cover, the existing walkway is mounted on top of the digester tank wall. This limits the available space for mounting cover supports on the top of digester tank wall. The equipment procurement Manufacturer ("Seller") is including modified cover supports in this area to be installed by Contractor. See photos in appendix for reference. 9. Primary digester tank cleaning as described in technical specifications herein. 10. Contractor to coordinate scheduling of structural inspection (by Engineer) of digester tank walls immediately following completion of cleaning work while the digester cover is off of the tank. 11. Concrete patching as necessary following structural inspection. 12. Installation of new sludge suction and recirculation piping inside primary digester. This will require core drilling and adequately sealing of penetrations. 13. Installation of new fiberglass biogas piping inside tank and inside building. This biogas piping is to be supported underneath the interior of fixed radial beam digester cover. 14. Construction and installation of fixed, radial beam digester cover, draft tube mixing system and related appurtenant equipment for the Primary Digester at the Red Wing, MN WWTF as described in the technical specifications herein. 15. Contractor shall apply coatings and cover insulation as described in the specifications herein. 16. Coatings inspection will be done during digester cover coating application by Owner's inspector. Contractor is responsible for any corrections to coatings and welding following inspections. 17. Building roof replacement The Work will be substantially completed by or before October 30, 2023 ; final completion- on or before December 31, 2023.
