Description | The City of Rockford reserves the right to refuse acceptance of delivered merchandise that differs substantially from the specifications in the invitation to bid or as otherwise permitted by Illinois law. Vendor must pay all required taxes and obtain all licenses, certificates, or other authorization required in connection with the performance of its obligation hereunder, and Vendor must require all subcontractors to also do so. Failure to do so may result in rejection of Vendor’s bid, cancellation of an award to Vendor, or termination of this contract with Vendor. When indicated on the cover page of the invitation to bid, this contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage, Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires awarded vendors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers, and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. Prevailing wage rates are determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and posted on the Department’s website The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to, all work activities necessary for the demolition of structures, foundations, surfacing materials, including the handling, storage, recycling, and disposal of waste materials. Work shall include removal of all concrete, reinforcement, boulders, and other materials necessary to achieve the proper elevation to accommodate construction of the proposed sidewalk, site improvements and landscape improvements. Boulders without concrete, adhesive, or other surface material attached shall be salvaged and placed along the riverbank as directed by Owner or Engineer. Salvage and placement of boulders is considered incidental to the PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AND DRAINAGE CHANNEL DEMOLITION AND DISPOSAL pay item. Donor bricks located adjacent to the abutments are to be removed and salvaged for installation in the new sidewalk. Salvage of donor bricks is considered part of the REMOVE AND REINSTALL DONOR BRICKS pay item. Excavation required to achieve demolition and disposal is considered incidental to the PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AND DRAINAGE CHANNEL DEMOLITION AND DISPOSAL pay item. Furnished excavation required to achieve the proper elevation to accommodate construction of the proposed sidewalk, site improvements, and landscape improvements is considered incidental to the PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AND DRAINAGE CHANNEL DEMOLITION AND DISPOSAL pay item. |
