Description

**As of August 10, 2022, project is cancelled. Project is no longer needed.** For the furnishing of materials, labor, equipment, and skill required for the construction of the following gravel surfacing projects: Project #1 - County Road 12 (5.0 Miles) - 11,000 TON Project #2 - County Road 23 (4.3 Miles) - 9,460 TON Project #3 - County Road 24 (4.0 Miles) - 8,800 TON Project #4 - County Road 39 (4.0 Miles) - 8,800 TON Project #5 - County Road 45 (8.0 Miles) - 17,600 TON Standard Specifications adopted by the NDDOT, dated January 2022, shall govern except as modified by these instructions, in which case these instructions shall govern. The Gravel Surfacing aggregate shall meet the requirements of the NDDOT Standard Special Provision (SSP) 6. It shall be the Contractors responsibility to deliver material that meets the specifications. The Contractor shall provide test results from an independent testing agency showing that the material meets the requirements prior to hauling any material to the projects. The County reserves the right to hire a third-party consultant to obtain samples of aggregate to verify conformance to specifications. If the aggregate fails to meet the specified gradation, the County reserves the right to apply a price reduction as specified in SSP 6. The County shall reserve all final approval rights. Contracts for each project shall be awarded on the basis of the low bid submitted by a responsible and responsive bidder for the aggregate sum of all bid items for each project. The work on the projects will be completed and ready for final payment by November 1st, 2022. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept the bid for each project deemed most favorable to the interest of the Owner. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work within the time required herein or within such extra time as may have been granted by formal extensions of time approved by the Owner, there will be deducted from any amount due the Contractor the sum of $900 per day and every day that the completion of the work is delayed.
