Building 2102 Renovation Project

Project includes: Renovating an existing 39,077 sf former aircraft-engine maintenance facility into a higher-education occupancy providing a varied aviation-related curriculum. The building adjoins existing ramp of Alexandria International Airport (AEX), and consists of a 26,600 sf high-bay Shop Area with by a 3,800 sf north wing, a 6,572 sf south wing, and a 2,105 sf west wing. A concrete-paved parking area exists on east side of building. The Shop Area is proposed to remain generally as-is, and the three wings are proposed for phased renovation into associated classroom, lab, office and support spaces. The building is currently vacant. The Project’s initial phase includes rehabilitation of electrical service, air-conditioning, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, data network and compressed air system at Shop Area, north wing and west wing. The initial phase also includes full repurposing/renovation of the north wing and minor renovations to west wing. Final renovation work in west and south wings is proposed in subsequent phases.
