Description | The scope of the work includes: Removal and installation of a New Comparable HVAC Recirculating Air Conditioning System. Removal and disposal of the existing deteriorated duct system and installing new manufacture duct work curbing properly seal to prevent penetration and weather resistance. Removal and installation of new minimum size service wiring for AC power and AC unit secondary control wiring to power the unit. The new system shall meet all South Carolina Building Codes as well the following design standards, ASME, ANSI and ASCE Standards for the City of Chester Indoor Aquatics Fitness Center Swimming Pool Natatorium Center. The new system shall be designed to meet the Air Quality requirements of the current SC 2021 International Mechanical Code for indoor air quality requirements, as well as the SC IBC, SC IFGC and NFPA 70. The installation of a new HVAC Recirculating System shall be designed on the building square footage and the cubic volume of the building for air quality requirements that is to be removed and replaced in the building. All ductwork shall be designed in accordance with SMACNA ductwork standards and shall be properly insulated, sized, and sealed and be of corrosion resistance materials. All wall or roof penetration shall be performed by the selected Mechanical Contractor and all roof or wall curbing penetration shall be sealed and installed to ASHRAE and ASCE specifications for concrete walls and roof entrance penetrations. The awarded contractor is responsible for acquiring all necessary building permits, proper bonding and a City Business License is required by the contractor who will be doing HVAC Air Conditioning System Improvements (Aquatics and Fitness Center). A bid bond is required for all contracts that exceed $100,000. The following items must be included as part of the bid: Bid Form Certificate of Insurance Bid Bond The City of Chester encourages participation by women, minority, disadvantaged and Section 3 businesses. Bid submittals from minority and women owned businesses are encouraged. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Work should begin within 30 days of Notice to Proceed and must be completed within 120 days. Other qualification or bid requirements include: Bidder must also make positive effort to use small and minority -owned business and to offer employment, training, and contracting opportunities in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Any prospective bidder, offeror, contractor, or subcontractor who is aggrieved in connection with the solicitation of this contract may protest to the City in accordance with Section 11-35-4210 of the SC Code of l1-35-4210 of the SC Code of Laws 15 days of the date of issuance of the Notice of Intent to Award.
