Description | JEA is soliciting Bids for a General Contractor for the replacement of Unit 2 and 3 Feedwater Heaters at Brandy Branch Generating Station (the Work ) JEA recently conducted a tube wall ultrasonic inspection (UT) and evidence of dew point corrosion was discovered in the feedwater heater (FWH) sections for HRSG Units 2 & 3. Many of the tubes have lost more than 50% of their original thickness. JEA has decided to replace the existing ASTM SA178A / SA106B carbon steel tube bundles, headers, and risers with OEM tube bundles. The project scope includes installing new feedwater heater sections, feedwater heater assemblies and risers per the original design. The FWH headers and associated piping will be reused to the fullest extent practical. The FWH section shall be supplied by the original equipment manufacturer, Chanute Manufacturing and provided to the installing Contractor by JEA. Removal and disposal of the existing FWH section shall be included in this scope. Drawings showing the areas to be replaced are included in the solicitation package and listed in Appendix B. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to request or obtain any necessary information missing from the drawings provided. The Contractor will be allowed to take external field measurements, if necessary, to facilitate the installation of FWH sections per the original design. Any information not available from visible inspections may be obtained from non-destructive test methods approved by JEA. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to coordinate inspections with JEA and contingent upon unit availability. The Contractor will be responsible for leaving the HRSG in the same condition as it was found prior to any inspections. The installation of the FW heaters will take place during 2023 spring outage. The Unit 2 and Unit 3 outage is tentatively planned to start on February 23, 2023 and is tentatively planned to end on March 29. Contractors will have 30 WORKING DAYS during the outage per CT Management. The overall duration includes shut down and startup activities. The outages are concurrent and are expected to last 30 days. The actual outage dates will be set by JEA and JEA will notify the Contractor no less than 60 days prior to the scheduled start of each installation outage once specific dates are established. Pursuant to the American with Disabilities Act, accommodations for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Please allow 1-2 business days for notification to process; last minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fulfill. Please contact Victoria Holloway via email with your request to hollvl@jea.com. |
