SW 83 Place Road - SW 189 Court Road (0.25 mi East of SW 196 Avenue Rd to SW 190 Avenue Rd)

Scope of Work: Marion County Office of the County Engineer (OCE) is seeking qualified bidders to resurface the existing roadway on SW 83rd Place Rd/SW 189th Court Rd, construct side street and driveway aprons, establish sod, and stripe the roadway. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond, acceptable to the Board of County Commissioners, or a Cashier's Check to the Board of County Commissioners in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid(s). Bid guaranty of the successful bidder will be returned upon his execution of the Agreement; otherwise the bid guaranty will be in default and subject to terms and conditions set forth in the form of Bid Bond. The contract time for this project is 120 calendar days (including approximately 45 days from substantial completion to project closeout), including COUNTY observed holidays. No work is permitted during COUNTY holidays unless it is approved by the COUNTY, forty-eight (48) hours in advance. Failure to achieve Final Completion within the allotted contract time will cause the charge of liquidated damages against the CONTRACTOR at the daily rate established in this provision. At the Pre-Construction Conference, CONTRACTOR shall submit a schedule for performing the work. The schedule shall be within the contract time allotted for this project and shall include tentative dates of performance. The Notice to Proceed will not be issued until all required documentation is received by the COUNTY. The successful bidder shall start work on this project within 15 calendar days after a Notice to Proceed. Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned, and Small Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. Marion County believes that hiring done through this contract should, to the maximum extent, be offered to citizens within its boundaries that are unemployed or seeking work for the first time. To that extent, the firm awarded business under this contract will be contacted by the Workforce Connection, our regional workforce development board, to discuss hiring through its staff and services.
