Description

The City of Clermont is requesting qualifications from architectural firms to design a new Fire Station to replace the existing Fire Station # 2 located at Hartwood Marsh Road and Danburry Mill Blvd. The current Fire Station #2 is located on 0.84 acres and is proposed to be relocated to a site approximately three (3) acres in size with 250 feet of roadway frontage. The new fire station will be a single-story four (4) bay drive-through station to accommodate four (4) fire rescue apparatus with sleeping quarters for up to twelve (12) personnel. The station should conform to current industry best practices outlined by the US Fire Administration; including areas for administrative and training, residential living, physical fitness room, storage for equipment and gear, separate cleaning facilities for uniforms and firefighting turnout gear, and decontamination with proper separation zones between clean and contaminated areas. Parking will be necessary to accommodate approximately twenty-four (24) vehicles for on-duty staff, visitors, and handicap spacing as required. An emergency traffic signal will also need to be provided to meet the current standards of Opticom. The selected firm will provide architectural design, civil design, and environmental permitting for the new facility. To ensure that all prospective respondents have accurately and completely understood the requirements, the City of Clermont - Procurement Services Department will accept written questions up until 3:00 pm on NO VALUE. Verbal inquiries will not be accepted and potential respondents are instructed to only seek additional information or clarification or to communicate in writing with the Procurement Services Director. The issuance of this solicitation and the acceptance of responses do not constitute an agreement by the City that it will enter into a contract with any of the respondents to this solicitation. The City reserves the right to extend the response due date, request additional information from any and all respondents, reject any and all responses, to enter into negotiations with the next qualified respondent if negotiations with the top respondent do not result in an agreement, cancel the project, and/or re-advertise the solicitation. The City reserves the right to disqualify any respondent at the sole discretion of the City. By submitting a response and subsequent information, the respondents waive the right to object to the exercise of the City's right to disqualify a respondent and/or a response, either now or in the future. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
