Description | The project under consideration includes removal and disposal of approximately 32,100 square feet of existing asphalt together with existing fence and posts, grading and preparing existing stone base, and application of a total 4 inches of compacted asphalt. Notice to proceed is expected to occur by October 24, 2022. Each bid shall include an executed Contractor's Bid for Public WorkForm 96 as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts, accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit and a certified check made payable to the City of Frankfort or an approved Bid Bond in the amount often percent (10%) of the bid. The contract to be entered into with the successful bidder will require the contractor to comply with the employment eligibility requirements of I.C. 22-5-1.7, the contractor requirements of I.C. 5-16-13 and the Iran certification requirements of I.C. 5-22-16.5. The City of Frankfort of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept the one in its judgment to be the lowest and most responsive and in the best interests of the City of Frankfort. 1. The area under consideration for new asphalt reconstruction is approximately. 32,100 square feet. 2. Remove existing fence and net posts. 3. Excavate, and dispose of properly, all existing asphalt in area under consideration. 4. Grade and prepare existing stone base to proper elevations and compact using vibratory roller. In the event that soft spots are identified, after consultation with owner, there may be additional costs incurred due to additional excavation and stone base needed. 5. Asphalt Base: Furnish and Install 2.5 inches (compacted thickness) of 25mm asphalt base and compact with vibratory roller. 6. Asphalt Surface: Furnish and Install 1.5 inches compacted thickness of 9.5mm asphalt surface and compact with vibratory roller. 7. Finish Roll & Barricade Lot 8. Any areas that are not accessible to the roller will be compacted using vibratory plate compactors and, or hand tampers. |
