Description

The project as described in the bid documents is a two story addition above the existing retail store for a total of three stories above grade. There is related sitework as part of the board resolution. The existing retail space will be vacant for construction. The successful Bidder may be required to furnish a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond in the full amount of the Contract Sum. Bonds shall be executed in such form and security (and with a bonding company acceptable to owner) and if Owner so elects, the Contract Sum shall be increased accordingly; or owner will reimburse the contractor for the cost of said bond; or at owner option, bonds may be secured and paid for separately by the owner. Owner intends to announce the selection of a Contractor and notify it to proceed with the Work within 5 working days after the Proposal Due Date; however, if an award is not made within that time but within the 60-day period during which Proposals may not be withdrawn, then Contractor will be obligated to adhere to the Construction Progress Schedule.
