Recreation Area Sidewalks and Trail Pathway

The Town of Bethel is accepting proposals for contractors to install two five-foot-wide asphalt paved sidewalks to improve site accessibility at the Bethel Recreation Area (location of town pool), located at 115 Pleasant Street, and a hard pack surfaced pathway between the sidewalk at the crosswalk across from the Bandshell Park on Church Street to the top of the slope northwest of the United Church of Bethel, located at 108 Church Street (brick church). Component A: Bethel Recreation Area ADA Compliant Sidewalks: This component is funded by a VOREC Grant awarded to the Town of Bethel. Item 1: Approximately 35 long, 5 wide asphalt sidewalk between the apex of the first curve in the existing sidewalk that goes to the pool area and the to be constructed concrete access apron planned for the edge of the skatepark expansion. Item 2: Approximately 11 long, 5 wide asphalt sidewalk beginning at the existing ramp on the west side of the Pool Shelter, beginning with a 59 x 6 paved rectangular pad, transitioning to an approximately 30 long section of sidewalk at an approximately 45 degree angle to the northwest to the area of the existing play structure, transitioning back to the west and continuing for another approximately 78 terminating at the edge of the existing woodchip pad for the playground on the southern end of the playground area.
