Big Boar 19-20 Timber Sale

This sale is a fourth row logger select thinning of approximately 348 acres of 19 year old slash pine on Four Creeks State Forest (SFI Certified Forest #NSF-SFI-FM-C0245755) in Nassau County, Florida. Timber to be removed includes every fourth row and select trees in the remaining rows in order to reach 65-75 square feet of residual basal area. Trees to be removed from the selection rows include diseased, damaged, defective, forked, and suppressed trees; followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired basal area. Leave trees should be evenly spaced throughout the sale area. The target basal area per acre can be adjusted by the Forester-in-charge as needed due to variations in stand and site conditions. Logging decks and skid trails must be approved by the Forester-in-charge. Sale boundaries are roads, state forest boundaries, wetlands, or obvious timber type changes. The estimated volume to be removed is 12,684 tons of pulpwood.
