Description

The work to be performed consists principally of the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials to relocate and regrade approximately 2,050 LF of Lake Rd, to regrade and install approximately 520 LF of a concrete flood protection wall along the northern shore of Irondequoit Bay, and to complete park improvements as detailed in the bid documents. Additionally, the project includes demolition of an existing structure, maintenance and protection of traffic, utility modifications and coordination, and installation of sidewalks, landscaping, and parking areas. A. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents. The Project has been divided into three distinct scopes of work, further referred to as Contracts 01, 02, and 03" to assist with record keeping and tracking due to various funding sources. All three Contracts will be bid as a lump sum by a single prime contractor further referred to as "General Construction Contract G-1". The work of the General Construction Contract G-1 is further detailed below. Contract 01 - MO.56 REDI Lake Road Improvements: This Contract Includes Raising the Elevation of Lake Road and Shifting the Alignment Northward, Away From Irondequoit Bay, to Protect Against Rising Lake and Bay Levels. Upgrades Include Curbing. Parallel Parking, Sidewalks, Green Infrastructure, Drainage and Utility Work, Grading, Landscaping, and Benches. Funding: Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and Town of Webster. Contract 02 - M0.59 & MO.78 REDI Flood Wall: This contract includes raising the grade south of Lake Road to protect against rising Lake and Bay levels. A combination of concrete flood walls and vegetated earthen berms will be used to protect Sandbar Park as well as the Monroe County Pure Waters Sandbar Pump Station. The existing dock will be replaced, sidewalks will be installed, and green infrastructure will be added to treat stormwater prior to discharge into Irondequoit Bay. Funding: Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, Environmental Facilities Corporation, and Town of Webster. Contract 03- Park Improvements: This contract includes the installation of site improvements within the limits of Sandbar Park on both the north and south sides of Lake Road. Including., but not limited to, concrete, asphalt, and stone dust pathways, asphalt paving (binder and top course) for (2) new parking areas (base to be installed as part of Contracts 01 & 02), a lakeside shade structure, a play area, restroom building, Bay front kayak launch and seasonal dock, open lawn areas, landscaping. and plantings Funding: New York Department of State and Town of Webster.
