Description

Biology Building 0084, which is located on the main campus at the University of Utah campus, was constructed in 1967. The existing exhaust system for fume hoods and general exhaust in the building is based on a constant -vo lume design that is not energy-efficient and that employs constant-volume fume hoods that do not protect users as effectively as modern hoods. The purpose of this series of project s is to upgrade the exhaust system to a variable volume system that will pro vide greater energy efficiency and user safety. The University proposes to complete this upgrade through multiple CMGC agreements anticipated to be addressed over the following four phases: Phase 1 (Project 22211): Exhaust system upgrade to northwest quadrant of building Phase 2 ( Project 22437): Exhaust system upgrade to northeast quadrant of building Phase 3 ( Project TBD): Exhaust system upgrade to southwest quadrant of building Phase 4 ( Project TBD): Exhaust system upgrade to southeast quadrant of building. University Project Numbers 22211, 22437 and others TBD FLCC for project 22211 is $2,070,980. FLCC for each of the other projects expected to be between $2000000 and $2800000.
