Description

SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES AND A PURCHASE ORDER WILL NOT BE AWARDED AS A RESULT OF THIS NOTICE. This is a Sources Sought Announcement for an Elevator Failure Emergency Repair at Canyon Ferry Dam. Canyon Ferry Dam is located on the Missouri River, approximately 17 miles east of Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Montana. This announcement is being used for market research and advanced planning purposes. Proposals are not being requested and will not be accepted from this Sources Sought Notice. The elevator onsite is a Kone 2,500 lbs. capacity elevator. It stopped working around July 28, 2022 and is impacting daily operations of facility and is a safety concern. Repair services are needed as soon as possible. The cause of the failure is unknown, and the elevator will only operate upon use of the Fire Key. The following tasks are needed under this requirement: 1) Conduct an initial inspection and or assessment to determine reason for fault or equipment failure. Provide the Government with an itemized quote for all necessary repairs for safe operation of elevator. 2) Repair all Government approved items as detailed in the assessment. If any additional repairs are discovered, prior approval must be received before commencing work on those repairs. 3) Install four (4) auxiliary door switches with conduit and wiring in order to bring elevator up to code (ASME A17.1 2.2.4.4(6)(1)) to pass previous state inspection conducted in October 2021. The auxiliary door switches and components necessary for installation will be provided by the Government. The Government is seeking interested small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, woman-owned small businesses, HubZone small businesses and/or service-disabled veteran owned small business concerns who have the specialized knowledge, experience and resources necessary to successfully the inspection and repairs. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 811310 Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (Except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance, with a small business size standard of $11 Million. If an interested small business concern believes they are qualified and able to perform the work required under this proposed requirement, please submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to successfully accomplish the various components of requirement outlined above. The Government will not reimburse any costs associated with responding to this Sources Sought Notice. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a Request for Quote or ultimately award a purchase order, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will not be bound to this information if a Request for Quote is issued. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action, based on the responses to this notice, is at the discretion of the Government. Capability statements shall be submitted to Charlee Maurer at camaurer@usbr.gov by 12:00 PM MDT on September 6, 2022. For record keeping purposes, telephonic inquiries will not be accepted. Any vendor interested in doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the SAM database upon submitting a quote.
