Description | The Project includes the following Work: The work generally associated with this project consists of replacing an old, unlined, 4-inch cast iron water main that runs along West Washington Street from Delaware Street to Penn Line Road with a new 8-inch cement lined ductile iron pipe main. The length of the new water main under this contract is approximately 1,700 lineal feet. In addition, storm sewer improvement work and minor sanitary sewer replacement/manhole installation work are associated with this project. As part of the work, new potable water services will be installed from the new 8-inch water main to the curb line. The overall project work will also include but is not limited to watermain piping, storm sewer piping/inlets/manholes, sanitary sewer piping/manhole, bypass pumping, the reconnection of all sanitary sewer laterals and other utilities impacted by work on this Contract, all dewatering, all required fittings, taps, thrust blocks, concrete encasements, restraints, fire hydrants, valves, water meters, testing and disinfection, pipe bedding, appurtenances, incidentals, restoration work, grading, topsoil, seeding and erosion control measures, barricades, traffic control measures and detouring as required. Upon completion of the watermain improvements, the storm sewer improvements and minor sanitary sewer replacements, the Washington Street roadway from Delaware Street to Wert Road shall be completely restored to include milling of existing asphalt roadway, cut, fill with compaction, installation of new asphalt roadway, roadway striping, installation of concrete curb, ADA-accessible ramp improvements, sidewalk and driveway aprons. This project is funded in part by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA Rural Development). |
