Description | Miami-Dade County is soliciting interested contractors to register to participate and perform in Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) Bids under the MCC 7040 & 7360 Plan projects. Contractual Opportunities are continuously available for all businesses located in Miami-Dade who are interested in doing business with the County. The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors. RPQ No: P0264-R - MECHANICAL INTEGRITY TESTING OF DEEP INJECTION WELLS AND ASSOCIATED SERVICES AT VARIOUS SITES ESTIMATED COST: $3, 069,000.00 LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Well Water Contractor SCOPE OF WORK: The project consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment to perform mechanical integrity testing of seventeen (17) existing injection wells at the South District Wastewater Treatment Plant; four (4) at the North District Wastewater Treatment Plant, one (1) industrial injection well at the South Miami Heights Treatment Plants, and rehabilitation of one (1) offsite monitoring well located at the CHI hospital parking lot and all associated and appurtenant items and work as specified herein and as required by Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) during the course of the contract. The work includes suppressing the artesian flow with a food grade salt brine, removing the existing well head, scrubbing the 24 inch and 20 inch steel casings with a steel wire brush, scrubbing the 16.37 ID FRP casing at SMH with a nylon bristle brush (only the IW at SMH has an FRP final casing), flushing with potable water, doing a television survey of the entire casing while being able to see the joints, performing a pressure test up to 150 psi on each well casing, shutting in the well for a 12 hour period, then performing temperature and conductivity logs, performing the radioactive tracer survey (RTS) using medical grade Iodine I-131; complying with security restrictions at all locations; scheduling the work to complete prior to the scheduled date; and all appurtenant and miscellaneous work. All contractors must also meet all the security requirements, which now including having everyone who will be on-site fingerprinted.
