East Elden Street (From West Of Van Buren Street To Fairfax Co Parkway) - 03-ST-97-001 - Town of Herndon

This VDOT project will improve Elden Street, from Fairfax County Parkway to Van Buren Street, in accord with the Town Council resolution of October 13, 1998. Project elements include streetscape and median enhancements. Elden Street will be widened to a six-lane divided section with a vegetated median strip between the Herndon and Fairfax County Parkways. From Herndon Parkway to Van Buren Street, the project will include a four-lane section with a vegetated median strip with dedicated turning lanes. The project will make a transition down to two travel lanes west of Van Buren Street and approaching Monroe Street. As of December 28, 2023, this project is included in the FY2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Currently funded for FY2024-2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
