Description

The library, constructed in the late sixties, has different space needs than it did forty years ago. We would like to see as many of the following as possible incorporated into a new space/floor plan: Services through the entire project from planning through bidding documents, NYSED Library Construction Aid application, construction, necessary change orders, to completion Project phased in such a way that service disruptions are minimized Large and small meeting spaces with tech (laptop/projector/smartboard/video conferencing) Networking, wiring and outlet upgrades LED lighting fixtures Efficient and flexible use of space Surveillance systems in unsupervised areas Flexible mix of materials storage/display, staff work areas, programming areas, and public work and lounge areas Children's programming space Storage in meeting areas Cafe/lounge space Kitchenette in meeting room Comfortable, inviting space ADA accessibility Energy efficiency Asbestos abatement Durable, safe, low-maintenance flooring The architectural/engineering firm for this project will be selected according to the following criteria: Technical Capacity (10 Points) Technical skills which are applicable. Staff Experience (10 Points) Relevant experience of staff member(s) who will be assigned. Corporate Experience (10 Points) Length of time corporation has been in business. Familiarity with NYS Public Library Construction Aid Program (10 Points) Experience with projects funded by this program. Other Experience (10 Points) Appropriate experience with similar projects. Cost of Services (50 Points) Total estimated cost of all fees and expenses. Maximum Possible Score: 100 Points Qualified firms that wish to be considered must submit the following materials together with any additional information which may be deemed to be useful: Company brochure/printed material describing the range of services which the firm is qualified to provide. Outline of previous experience with similar projects. References associated with similar projects. Resumes of key staff members who will be involved in the project. Prices per hour for all services and a maximum total cost of all services, including all expenses. Length of time estimated to complete the project from planning through completion.
