Description | As of April 28, 2023. The project has been awarded with the amount of $399,220.12. The Approximate Extent and Character of the Work is Generally Described as Follows: Removal and Replacement of Bridge Barriers and Guardrail at Three Bridge Locations in Southwest Paulding County. Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same. The Completion date for this project is April 1, 2024 or 12 months from notice to proceed. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds, for 100% of the contract amount, with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement. Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia. Requests for payments are due by the Fifth (5 th ) of the month for the payment by the Twentieth (20 th ) of the month. 10% Retainage will be held until final acceptance of the project by the Paulding County Department of Transportation. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day of the Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. All work performed for this project will be IAW Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specification for Construction of Roads and Bridges, Current Edition, and attached modifications and special provisions. Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the OWNER. Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as, "BRIDGE BARRIER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT". If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention of the OWNER at the address previously given. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities and re-advertise. |
