Description

The project consists of mitigating negative pressurization of the building through the addition of a new Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS) and related ductwork, the infill and sealing of the outside air louvers with brick, and the removal and scheduled replacement of the paneling in Conference Room 1002. The existing Fan Coil Units located on the west, south, and east sides of the 1st & 2nd floors will be altered to no longer bring in outside air and will be reinstalled in place and used for heating & cooling purposes. The associated through-wall louvers will be removed and the openings will be infilled with brick and mortar to match existing. The new DOAS will have one unit enclosed in the basement drop ceiling to serve the basement, and one unit on the roof to serve the 1st and 2nd floors. Two chases at the 2nd floor will direct the ductwork from the roof down to the 1st floor. The conference room at the 1st floor has paneling and cabinetry on all four sides at the lower 2/3’s of the wall. The woodwork will be dismantled, labeled and documented, and reinstalled after any mold is mitigated, the walls are cleaned, and the plaster repaired. The source of the damage will be investigated, and the damage will be repaired in kind while protecting the existing cornice.
