Description

**As of  February 23, 2023 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline or award has not yet been established.**  The project consists of improvements to the Heritage Farm located at 2601 Central Ave. NW, Albuquerque, NM. The project comprises new utilities, grading and drainage and landscape (planting, new paths, surface upgrades, etc.) improvements, alterations to existing buildings, new buildings, and new exhibit and wayfinding signage across the approx. 19 acre site the Heritage Farm at the ABQ BioPark. New buildings include (2) steel unheated open barn structures and (1) heated building, a 2-story preengineered metal Office & Maintenance building for the farm staff. The project also includes a new drainage lateral - Bid Lot. The overall concept for the project is to show how a working farm along the Rio Grande functions. Journeying through the Farm visitors will learn in a direct way where food comes from, be shown best/sustainable farming practices and be reminded of the critical farming contributions of indigenous Native Americans, Hispanic and Anglo settlers. 1.
