Description | The project consists of construction of a new concrete foundation, a small CMU block retaining wall, install new pre-cast concrete utility trench, two small concrete support pads, and re-locating of an existing fiber optic cable. Others will be responsible for the installation of the tower. A summary of project requirements include: Site preparation and grading for the construction of new concrete foundation (16’6”x16’6”x4’). Given the required location of the foundation and adjacent structures, a retaining wall is required. The wall is assumed be less than 3’ high and run along the corner of the foundation (20LF). Installation of embedded anchor plates for future installation of tower by others. Two new concrete pads (5’x5’x1’). New precast utility trench with sheet metal covering (40 LF). Four new conduits are to be installed in trench and stubbed up within the new foundation. Two power disconnect switches. All installed electrical components are not to be energized. Future connection and routing of power distribution will be performed by others. There exists an underground fiber optic cable within the footprint of the proposed foundation location. It is estimated to be 2’ below ground and consists of three cables encased in two innerducts. 2 of 3 cables contain sufficient slack to be pulled back and re-located around foundation. 1 cable will need to be pulled back and utilize a splice box to add length to re-locate around foundation. The existing fiber optic cabling is to be pulled through a newly establish ductbank around the foundation and the contractor will perform termination and signal testing with government witnessing. |
