Public Works Utility Storage Building Project

The project consists of the construction of a metal building housing 8 bays divided with poles, not walls, measuring 160 feet long by 60 feet deep and 16 feet high (from the bottom of the trusses to the slab) on front slanting to the back for rain run-off at a normal pitch of 5 inches on 12 inches. It shall be set on a 6" thick concrete slab with (2) layers of 6x6 #10 welded wire mesh over treated compacted fill and 6 mil. vapor barrier. Concrete slab shall include minimum 18"Wxl2"T continuous concrete footing with (2) #5 continuous bars to hold the weight of heavy vehicles/equipment with a small ramp at the front for ease in driving wheeled vehicles under cover. The garage doors shall be wind loaded 3000 series roll up doors. The metal building will consist of roof, closed in sides and ends of 26 gauge screw down Galvalume PBR panel. Support posts shall be 8 inches by 8 inches, pressure treated and shall be used to divide the bays as well as supporting the entire roof structure. Metal walls shall consist of 26 gauge screw down Galvalume PBR panel with open and closed 2x4 pressure treated wood and 16 gauge channels for wall framing. Trusses and roof shall be of sufficient height to drive under with large city equipment.
