Pre-Commercial Thinning FY2023

This request for proposal is intended to provide information to interested persons that, as a supplement to the information from the published advertisement and tour of the offered unit(s), will enable them to prepare a proposal. The information contained in this request for proposal is essential to a good understanding for the work to be done. Approximately 555 acres of pre-commercial thinning has been identified as needing completion. The goal of this project is to improve the residual stand for forest health and productivity, increase fire resistance, and increase wildlife habitat. Anticipated Award Decision/Contract Negotiation August 12, 2022 Offerors may email inquiries concerning this RFP to obtain clarification of requirements. No inquiries will be accepted after the date and time indicated in the Schedule of Activities. Inquiries must be emailed to Brandon Prehn at Brandon.Prehn@state.sd.us with the subject line CSP PCT. As further guarantee of the faithful performance of the provisions of this contract, the Contractor shall deliver herewithin and agrees to maintain a performance bond of 10% of the contract amount before work can begin. Anticipated length of this contract will be approximately 7 months from the date of signing. This proposal is for multiple units to be completed between the time period of September 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023. The parties may by mutual written agreement extend or renew this agreement under the same terms and conditions for different contract areas for up to three (3) one year periods
