Description | The project will identify and improve pedestrian safety in urban areas as described in the June 20, 2016 New York State Pedestrian Safety Action Plan available on the website. The project proactively addresses safety issues and reduces crash potential by implementing countermeasures at locations that have shown to be high risk. The project includes installation of signalized intersection improvements including, but not necessarily limited to high visibility crosswalk markings, countdown pedestrian indications, latching pushbuttons, accessible pedestrian signals (APS), new pedestrian signals, and turning vehicle yield to pedestrian signs. This Contract will address Signalized intersections in Dutchess, Rockland, and Westchester Counties. |
