Greenway Development: Minnesota River Greenway - Fort Snelling Segment - P00127 - Dakota County

The Minnesota River Valley is one of the largest publicly-managed open spaces within a major metropolitan area. The corridor is rich in cultural and natural resources and is part of the larger Minnesota Valley State Trail planned by the Minnesota DNR that will travel from Le Sueur to St. Paul. Completion of the 3.5-mile Fort Snelling segment of the MnRGW will complete the final gap in this trail and represent an important milestone in the creation of Dakota County's greenway network as well as a signature asset for the recreation, interpretation, and protection of Minnesota's river. This project is included in the county's FY2022-2026 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of July 27, 2022, further details regarding design completion and firm construction timelines has not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
