Description | Project Identification: Poughkeepsie CSD - Phase 2 Building Improvements 1. Project Location(s): a. Poughkeepsie High School, 70 Forbus Street, Poughkeepsie, New York 12601. b. Poughkeepsie Middle School, 55 College Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. c. Krieger Elementary School, 265 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. d. Warring Elementary School, 283 Mansion Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. e. Early Learning Center, 372 Church Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. f. Morse Elementary School, 101 Mansion Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. g. Clinton Elementary School, 100 Montgomery Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. h. Columbus Elementary School, 18 South Perry Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 Project Description: Project consists of building improvements (including, but not limited to, exterior door and window replacement, and renovations to the buildings' main entrances) as described in the Contract Documents. Any reference within the plans and specifications to/regarding Krieger ES, Clinton ES, Morse ES, Warring ES and Columbus Building is annul does not pertain to contract GC 2-1. Construction Contract(s): Bids will be received for Contract 2-1 scope of work. Note other prime contracts 2-2, 2-3, and 2-4 have been previously awarded.: 1. Multiple Contract Project consisting of the following prime contracts: a. Contract 2-1: General Construction Work (PHS / PMS / ELC) b. Previously Awarded Contract 2-2: General Construction Work (CES / KES / MES / CCS / WES) c. Previously Awarded Contract 2-3: Mechanical Construction Work (All buildings). d. Previously Awarded Contract 2-4: Electrical Construction Work (All buildings). Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Any bidder requiring documents to be shipped shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all packaging and shipping costs. Successful bidder shall begin the Work upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the Owners sales tax exemption, the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed, and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. In addition, the Bidding Documents contain detailed requirements for the qualification of Bidders. These include, among other things, rigid bonding and insurance requirements, financial statements, bank references, lists of lawsuits, arbitrations or other proceedings in which the Bidder has been named as a party, a statement of suretys intent to issue Performance and Payment Bonds, and a description of other projects of similar size and scope completed by the Bidder. Bids shall be prepared as set forth in Instructions to Bidders, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the Bidder and the title of the Work to which the bid enclosed relates. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after opening of bids. The Poughkeepsie City School District hereby reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any, or all, Bids or to accept the one that, in its judgement, will be in the best interest of Poughkeepsie City School District. The Owner further reserves its right to disqualify Bidders for any material failure to comply with the Instructions to Bidders. |
